On CTV.CA the big headline says:

Economists call on gov’t to stimulate economy

It’s a big story about it’s the THIRD letter economists had to send to the government this week urging the government to act on 1) Carbon Taxes are good (Monday), 2) Act on Climate Change by voting strategically (Tuesday) and now 3) Act on the economy.

Basically the story informs us how this country’s economists keep urging Harper to “do something” and that “doing nothing” is not the answer.

Sounds familiar? Oh, these ‘economists’ the story mentions, are theĀ Progressive Economic Forum, a group that describes itself as promoting “alternatives to conservative economic theory and policy.” The letter is signed by Doug Peters, a veteran federal Liberal and former junior minister of state for finance, and Rodrigue Tremblay, who served as Parti Quebecois industry minister of Quebec.

Perhaps we need to be focusing on the EU, the protests and very blunt comments on their carbontax/enviro fines killing jobs and may have to be stopped until the markets get back on their feet.

Act on the economy. Oh and I guess they mean the carbon tax? I can hand them a warmer coat if they are concerned about climate change. Yes winter is around the corner.

At least CTV mentioned the economists were “left-leaning analysts”

@Dave, that’s true, but unfortunately most people only read the headlines, and read the first paragraph if you’re lucky. By then they’ve already formed the opinion “Economist plead to Harper to please do SOMETHING!”

Iggy accused PMSH of being responsible for the drop in stock markets. Markets after 6 straight days dropping, closed higher today.
Did PMSH saying there are some ‘good buys’ out there restore some confidence in the market IGGY?

I’ll bet Iggy has a stock portfolio and I will bet that he is looking to buy into some good deals.
