Election Results

Let’s face it: Harper did not get a majority due to the following facts:

  1. The boneheads in Newfoundland who voted for equalization handouts even though they are a “have province” now. They would rather risk a carbon tax on their precious oil than to finally take their place in confederation and pay towards this country.
  2. The idiots in Quebec who vote for the Bloc and thus for separation. In particular the idiots in Gatineau who mostly work for the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT and would surely lose their jobs should their party of choice succeed in its goal and separate.
  3. The idiots in downtown Toronto; How ANYBODY in Ontario can vote for Bob Rae, I will never understand. Another vote for hand-outs. Lovely.
  4. 59% turnout. It’s a shame.

And there you have it. Last night’s election results.

My thoughts exactly. One thing I would like to add is, the media must take almost all the responsibility for trashing the conservatives at every opportunity and thus influencing most voters in all provinces, but especially in Quebec. The arts thing was pure nonsense but the Quebeckers swallowed it hook line and sinker. I hate to say this but now I know why there have been so many Newfie jokes over the years.

If you want to blame anyone, blame Charest (his swipe was meant for the ADQ).
Charest came out against Harper, and it was down hill from there, with Duceppe grabbing the ‘Harper is a devil in a cowboy hat’ flag and running, unimpeded, with it.
We don’t have the organization in Quebec that was needed, blame time. In time we will have.

Also blame Alberta, Duceppe and Layton did! and it resonated, big oil big oil….their supporters rallied around what they see as greed, they are socialists remember, and had lead Canada down that nanny state path for a long long time.

Conservatives have au unshakeable, tho small, representation in Quebec. We were not knocked out, the pundits, polsters and Duceppe were wrong.
In the ROC PMSH and a Conservative government won BIG!
(Danny got his money’s worth, and looks like a fool IMO)

bonus**** Nanos was wrong, they were all wrong.

Time to rethink the value of courting Quebec,if you do not want to be in Canada so be it. What can the Bloc do for you ,nothing, what has the Bloc done for you, nothing.Advice to the CPC do not feed the hand that bites you. Reward the tory ridings{not in a liberalway} and concentrate on Ontario. NFLD will continue to feast on its young ,goodluck, hope the price of oil goes up and no the ROC really does not care!

Let’s get serious here.

Newfoundland has seven seats. Count them. Seven. Traditionally, Newfoundland never sends the conservatives more than three seats to Ottawa. For all the kerfuffle over this ABC campaign, it resulted in the loss of three conservative MP’s from Newfoundland. Two of those seats were occupied by retiring incumbents, and lost to two strong challengers who were well liked, one of whom posted strong showings in the previous two elections.
The third seat was from what is traditionally a liberal stronghold (Manning’s Riding). The ABC campaign had a small ‘push’ effect that nudged the public, but I suspect the losses were more due to the natural cycle of challenges faced by a parry losing it’s incumbent candidates.

Meanwhile, the ‘boneheads’ in Ontario sent 38 Liberals and 17 New Democrats to Parliament.
