I am a Dutch-born-turned-Canadian Systems Administrator, Database Administrator, 6502 & ARM programmer, Computer Information Sytems Specialist, husband to a wonderful wife, father of two wonderful (step) children who are away at university.

Interests

My interests include: Programming (PHP, jQuery, VB.NET, iPod/iPhone/iPad Objective-C, ARM Code), nature hikes, cross-country skiing, road trips, photography, playing snooker, playing the piano (I’m learning).

Programming

I started programming BBC BASIC when I was 13 and have since moved on to various other languages including ARM Assembler, Pascal, Cobol, VB.NET, C#, C++, Java, PHP. As much as I like objects and Object Oriented Programming, nothing interests me more than programming ARM Assembler, a beautifully simple and highly logical language still used today to run over 90% of the world’s handheld devices, including Apple’s new iPad.
