Was your Schnitzel nice ‘n’ Crispy?

Rocky Mountain HouseIf you ever go to the Ottawa area, or Pembroke, Petawawa or anywhere in between, you would do yourself a favour by visiting the Rocky Mountain House in Renfrew for pork schnitzel. It surely is the best in the area. Enjoyed another helping the other night. Fried to a golden crisp by a real German, (they know how to cook a good schnitzel) Hans has given us a place to eat in the valley. Visit http://www.therockymountainhouse.com for more info.

In the Funny Overheard Conversations file:

Hans to customer: It’s like when you’re running with a knife in your hand and you round the corner and you run into someone and you kill the wrong person…

A Convenient Lie

So, Al Gore is on the campaign trail. Now, how does one get elected in general? First you need a crisis. Invent a crisis. Anything. Make sure it scares people. It has to scare enough people to assure a majority of votes. Make the people believe there is a crisis, then portray to be the one to TRY to save them from this imminent crisis. Election is almost assured. So, what better crisis than one the majority already believes? Global Warming, yeah, that’s a good crisis! Over 70% of the world today believes global warming is a huge crisis. OK, we have our crisis. The problem is, Americans do not care too much for countries far away flooding.  Shanghai, China? No…  Calcutta, India? No… They care, but not enough. It has to hit closer to home. Hmm… closer… Florida. Oh wait! Better yet: The World Trade Center Memorial Site! There’s one sure to be touching a raw nerve. Al GoreMake people believe the WTC Memorial will flood, and people will get really scared. (see photo taken from ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ trailer).
So, election 2009 comes up. There’s a threat the WTC Memorial site will flood. There’s a gazillion candidates to choose from, but only one who will do everything in his power to stop this unthinkable catastrophy from happening. Who will you be voting for?

It is so obvious that this ‘documentary’ Al Gore came up with is nothing more that a giant fund raiser for his presidential campaign. You rent the movie, you fund his campaign. You go see his speeches, you fund his campaign. Come election 2008/09, Al Gore will be in the people’s mind as the one for the environment. That good man who cares about our planet. He made that movie a couple of years ago, that won an Oscar(!). He’s going to fix our planet!

Isn’t he the same idiot that claimed he invented the Internet a few years back?

Layton’s on the case! Hooray!

Jack LayttonSince winter has finally arrived in Canada, and all Global Warming talk has ceased, the all knowing leader of leaders, Jack Layton, has picked a new cause. No, it is not world hunger, imminent nuclear threats, air pollution, water pollution, crime or poverty. No, it is the ultimate threat to decent society: banking fees on ATMs that belong to banks other than your own. The $1.50 that you have to pay for being so lazy that you could go to an ATM that is owned by your own bank, but decided to go to the other guy’s ATM that is three steps closer to you. It is $1.50 you pay so you can get money out of a machine where you currently are, versus driving to your bank and getting it there. You should be thankful, you saved $5 worth of gas on the trip. But wait, Jack Layton is going to save us from these evil fees. He’s getting results for the people!

Global Warming and the Villification of CO2

January 26, 2007 @ 4:08 pm 0 COMMENTS

The fact that most people in the world today believe that air pollution causes Global Warming drives me absolutely crazy. The fact that these people embrace the Kyoto accord to deal with these problems makes even less sense: Kyoto deals almost exclusively with the reduction of CO2 gas in the atmosphere.  CO2 is neither a pollutant, nor the cause of Global Warming. CO2 is a colourless, ordourless gas that is the ‘oxygen’ to all the plants and trees in the world. Remember your grade 9 biology class? Photosynthesis? It is the lifeblood of the tropical rainforests we all tried so hard to save during the late seventies and early eighties.
