I arranged for the update by phone and confirmed with the CSR the free dish upgrade, free 6-mo. HD package and that I qualified for the $15 credit. You can imagine my aggravation when said charges appeared on my bill. Good thing I'm in the habit of taking notes as I had the date, time, etc. of the conversation. It took a couple of months to sort it all out, in the meantime, I was being billed (and paying for) extras that were supposed to be free. Bell's pretty quick to load the charges onto your account, not so quick to credit you but to their credit, they did throw in a couple of short-term freebies in compensation. Unfortunately, living out of reach of cable access and too far from the border for an OTA HD signal, I'm stuck with satellite TV. Ever see the commercials on US TV for Direct Dish, etc? No protest is spontaneous and all of the bunch have been very well coached and organized. When any individual sets aside their own poor self esteem the replace it with the group persona, trouble begins. It's important not to try and separate alleged "good" protesters from "bad" protesters. They are all the same, just different assignments. It's also interesting to note that Libby Davis (NDP) lent her support to the protesters last week. This time the protesters came away looking stupid because they embarrassed Canadians and our media was on side to accurately report. Normally in Canada our media treats these protests with an almost a folk hero glee. In the end, if our media ignored all protests they would fade away onto oblivion. One point these characters win from me is that they (the Goons) had more courage to get out and be counted than the "Canadian" back room guys who organized them.
